Like all cats I occupy many roles. My main job lately has been that of night security guard. Since Grampy died it is my job to guard the apartment aganst all enemies foreign and domestic. Each
night I make hourly patrols to make sure no lizards, mice, burglars or other cats have invaded our territory. Then I hunt down and kill all bugs. Finally, when the boomies and flashing lights are going on, I sit in the window and meow at the storm. I tell it to stay outside and not hurt my people. All this work is exhausting, though, so when daylight comes I curl up for a long nap. I take my job seriously and need to be fresh for the next night. A guard kitty's work is never done.....

Dennis used to patrol ... now it's just nap time most of the time.

You do very important work! Do you also walk all over your mom while patrolling, just to make sure no evil creatures are on or around her? We do. We know she appreciates it.
We take turns patrolin' the place...a few things may get knocked over but hey, that's the hazards of the job! =^Y^=Ty

Maggy wonders if you would teach her how to be a security guard... are classes held very often? Right now, she just plays "run and hide" at the rainstorms. Well, I will give her credit for chasing lizards though her ability to catch them could use improvement. She got a "D" for "doesn't do it well" in that class.

Hey Muffin, I'm the security guardcat at my house too! Mom and Dad say I'm the best watchcat. I watch out for wabashes. I don't know exactly what wabashes are, but I watch for them.

Zippy sleeps all day so she does our patrols of da house and we lay on mom to make sure she is okay...your right, patrols and security are important!

Hi Mindi! What a good watch cat you are! Do the boomies scare you? We do not get boomies (except firecrackers - horrible!) in San Francisco, but I would hide under the bed if we did. You are a very brave cat.

It is hard work being a cat and at the moment we are having to work extra hard. One of our jobs is to keep our human calm so that She can paint but She is in a right state as She thinks all her work is rubbish! Humans! funny little things they are! We still have all our claws though and do so love to sharpen them on the sofa. It seems to fill Her with delight when we do as she screams and shouts, but is not very calm. Oh well, best go sit on one of Her paintings!
