We're so thankful that Mama Laura and her three cats survived the apartment fire and were reunited. It truly was a miracle. MuShe, Lilly Lu and Iris, we're purraying for you to recover quickly from the trauma. We hope the other beans and pets from the building are reunited as well....
Mommy is busy making matzoh balls. She and Granny are preparing for Passover, which starts this weekend. They weren't going to have a seder, but Mommy changed her mind and decided to go ahead with it. That means there will be lots of good things to eat....
Mommy was really amazed that a simple FYI comment could be misconstued by so many people....
Miz Allie Cat tagged us for the book meme. I took the nearest book, turned to page 123, read down five lines and now am quoting the next three:"Organize fairly and try, he urged, "And I will ensure your success. Indeed, they can by no means refuse you. You have as good a right to choose how you shall be governed." The patriot Dr. Thomas Young was speaking to an audience of Vermonters who wanted to form a colony of their own. In colonial America, Vermont was governed by New York and New Hampshire. The book the quote is from is The Old Revolutionaries by Pauline Maier.
I tag anyone who hasn't been tagged.

We know that you meant well with your FYI comment. We have talked to several people about the name and can find no one who has ever heard of it being used as a derogatory term. Most we asked had never even heard of the name at all. We think that is a good thing.
We do know a black man who is often called Uncle Tommy, with pride, because he has several nieces and nephews, and his name is Tommy. His white brother-in-law is often called Uncle Tom, because he also has several nieces and nephews, and his name is Tom.
Perhaps it is time to take back hurtful names by using them in a postive way.
We hope you have a very nice weekend and seder for Passover.
We did get a miracle, and are so happy for Mom Laura!

Hi! Isn't it wonderful about Lilly, MuShue & Iris?!? We're thrilled!
We missed something with the FYI, but we are positive you would never hurt anyones feelings.
Mommy read me an article that was in our paper about seder. It sounds like a wonderful, and yummy, tradition.
How will you celebrate Passover this year?
I think that is a cool book you're reading. Mommy and daddy went to colonial williamsburg and were facinated, and proud!
We came by to meet you. It was so exciting when Lilly Lu, Mu Shue and Iris were found and returned to Laura. We hope Mu Shue will be okay.
We read some of your other posts. The one about the folks being shot was a terrible thing. We animals don't do things that ugly.
But you peeing in your carrier on the way home from the vet's? Now, that's funny. Unfortunately, it won't stop her from taking you again sometime.
Today's post on my blog features the cats' (or at least my) retelling of the Passover story. It's called Purrover. Happy Purrover to all cats, and happy Passover to all celebrating humans!
Mommy would really appreciate it if you would email her at jackanddante at gmail dot com. She wants to tell you that she does not think at all that you called her those bad things. She was more afraid that after what you told her, that others would think that. She really thinks you were just pointing something out. Anyway, she would love to explain more but would rather do it in private so if you would email her, she would really appreciate it.
thanks for the tag! mommy is reading a good book right now.
